Tampa, Floriday native Doechii drops visuals for her song Denial Is A River from her breakout mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal. Directors James Mackel & Carlos Acosta get creative with 90’s hit sitcom shows to bring Doechii vision to life. The opening scene cinematography is a ode to “Family Matters”. As fans of hip-hop this is the creativity we love to see. A 2 minute, 4 second visual crafted showing the evolution of Doechii life and career.

At 45 second mark Doechii is rhyming about her past relationship. The director took an iconic scene from the 90’s hit show “Fresh Prince of Bell Air“. As her boyfriend is flung from the house in the same manner that Dr. Phill used to toss Jazz. For you youngsters lets take a look back at the first time Jazz “got dismissed.” For the 2000’s babies out there can you spot the other 90’s sitcom references?

What’s Next For Doechii
Currently Doechii has carved out a lane as an emerging emcee within hip-hop. Her latest single “Denial Is A River” is a success, and has currently recieved over 1.5 million streams on Spotify within a day.
