The storyline coming into the game was Albany was coming off a loss to Dartmouth, putting them in the middle of the pack in the conference with a 6-7 record and beginningconference play. With a new year and a clean slate of conference play ahead, UMass Lowell a 3-10 team is exactly the type of team/game they needed to start there conferenceplay for the season. For the most part as expected, Albany started out controlling the pace of the game with defense, fast break points and steals, as they took the lead in the first period 26-12. The quick start was lead by the Jessica Fequiere (6), Baily Hixson (6) andImani Tate who lead in scoring with 8 in the first period. Even with the fast start asexpected, UMass Lowell responded, coming out swinging and cutting to lead to 8 at the9:13 mark (26-18). Albany responded to there run, by building the lead back up to 19(42-23), forcing UMass to call a timeout and regroup, which was unsuccessful asUAlbany kept a tight grip on the lead, going into halftime with the (52-28). From thatpoint on UAlbany never looked back as they ended the third period up by 27 (77-50 ) andended the game with a 24 point victory (93-69), with there leaders Tate and Fequirerleading the team in scoring (Tate,22 and Fequirer, 20)
