UAlbany battled with The Columbia Lions over the weekends. In stellar fashion the Great Danes pulled the victory out of the “Lions Mouth”. The Great Danes jumped on Columbia and mounted a 21 point lead in the first half. As a result of this early lead the Columbia Lions faced a up hill battle all game. However Columbia was able to successfully trim the 21 point lead in half by half time. The second half the Columbia Lions were more aggressive in the post. Veteran Ike Nweke mounted the come back by posting 18 points. However UAlbany stayed the course and did not fold under pressure. Jarvis Dole remained active making key plays down the stretch. The Great Danes did the dirty work on the glass, and defensively the keep the Columbia Lions at bay. Graduate Student Dre Perry iced the game by knocking down two free throws.
